The Chinese smartphone company brand Xiaomi beats Samsung to take the No. 1 spot in the Indian Smartphone market. Xiaomi users will be very much happy with the news because it happened for the first time in six years. According to the research firm Canalys, The company has shipped over more than 8.4 million units of a smartphone during Q4 2017 in India and occupied 27% market share.
Xiaomi Beats Samsung To Become No.1 Smartphone Market In India
Both the companies are now commanding more than 50% of the smartphone market in India, with the market leader Xiaomi at 27% and the 2nd place Samsung at 25%. However, the Samsung managed to retain its renowned position in the rankings for the year 2017 with the market share of 24%. As per Counterpoint Research.

The Counterpoint Research Tarum Pathak said that the Xiaomi occupied the market and hold No. 1 spot because of its high specifications handsets and affordable prices and also the market expansion strategy that helps the company to lead the smartphone market in India.
Xiaomi just entered India over 3 years ago and now it is worth at $100 billion. The company provide the good quality smartphone with high specs that impress the users and made the entry into Indian smartphone market. It has done a lot of advertisement and also a flash sale on the leading e-commerce websites such as Flipkart and U.S. tech giant Amazon that help the company to occupy the market within a short time without spending a huge amount on marketing.
According to Rushabh Doshi, analyst, Canalys said that “For Xiaomi, growth may not be that easy to come. “As Xiaomi’s market share reaches saturation point in India, and the market continues to shrink in China, it must contend with slower growth for its smartphone business as it begins to expand in other countries,”
The fighting between Xiaomi and Samsung will continue well into 2018, as Samsung will try to fights to take back the aspirational status which was once held in minds of Indian consumers.”
